| When Barclays decided that they
wanted to develop their own, in-house, e-learning, they decided to look
only at collaborative authoring tools. Desktop tools, that produce content
locally, were not considered. Barclays needed software that allowed true
concurrent collaborative course development from anywhere in the world.
An intensive 3 month evaluation period followed, where collaborative
toolsets from Atlantic Link and major US vendors were put through their
paces. Atlantic Link's Content Point software breezed to victory, outscoring
the competition on almost every key success criteria.
In particular, the courses produced by Content Point were
preferred by 80% of the end users, and the design of the courses was rated
as 'good' or 'excellent' by 75% of end users.
The fact that the Atlantic Link courses didn't look like
a rolling PowerPoint presentation was also preferred by the course developers.
Commenting on the win, Atlantic Link's Managing Director,
Mike Alcock, stated: "This is a hugely significant win for us and
the British software industry. We have proven that software invented here
can compete and win against established toolsets from some of the largest
corporations in the USA. Our software redefines rapid e-learning, and
has a feature set that cannot be matched by any other product on the market.
The fact that some of the world's largest corporations are now endorsing
our rapid e-learning tools can only lead to a greater global adoption
of our unique technology".
